Our Journey so far...

Our Founder.

I’m Nishi Mehta, the founder of Embrace Inclusion. My passion for DEI is deeply personal, sparked by my own experience of being made redundant while on maternity leave. This challenging time opened my eyes to the many barriers that women face in the workplace, fuelling my desire to create positive change for women and underrepresented groups.

This journey led me to launch my first business, Career Mums, a social enterprise focused on educating corporate organisations about inclusivity and supporting underrepresented groups. I then became a qualified coach and have since worked with women from all walks of life. However, it wasn’t until I heard from professionals, such as lawyers and doctors, about their loss of confidence during maternity leave that I truly understood the depth of the issue. The data alone couldn’t capture the isolation and emotional burden that many women felt in their workplaces.

This realisation motivated me to create CM Talent, my second business, which partners with companies to provide maternity coaching and implement diversity initiatives.

Our Commitment.

During the COVID pandemic, it became evident that conversations around EDI needed to expand. It wasn’t just about gender; we had to confront issues of race, age, disability, sexuality, and neurodiversity. Many businesses hold back, fearing mistakes when addressing these complex issues, but the conversation can no longer remain one-dimensional.

Diversity surrounds us, and now is the time to drive meaningful change in both policies and accountability. This work goes beyond ticking boxes – it’s an ongoing journey to foster genuine inclusion.

Over the years, our business has evolved to reflect a deeper commitment to inclusive leadership and diversity. As our work grew, so did our focus on initiatives that foster meaningful, inclusive change within organisations. In 2024, we rebranded to Embrace Inclusion, symbolising our journey and the expertise we bring to creating workplaces where everyone feels valued and empowered.

EDI offers commercial benefits, but it also fulfills a fundamental human need to feel valued, respected, seen, and heard. By equipping individuals and organizations with the tools and knowledge to embrace EDI, we aim to create a lasting legacy through our team and associates. Together, we can build a world that truly Embraces Inclusion.
